New Year Resolutions 2014

New Year Resolutions

It's kind of random to post my new year resolutions in February, I know. However, I think I have lost touch with my blog for too long. This is a great time for me to keep in touch with my blog again isn't it? With the written evidence, I'm also more certain that I will be able to stick tight to my resolutions. HAHA

There have been so many things going on in my life! I was so so so busy these days. I've gotten my butts off and worked part time the last holiday. School started in January and I'm currently studying for my last semester. OMG, like finally!!! Clap for me please!

Projects and exams made up most of my days. Even now, I am doing my investment project and I feel so helpless. My language is the main killer. Gosh, my English sentence structures have gone haywire after I graduated from secondary school.

Oh ya, this is supposed to be a new year resolutions post. I think you have now discovered my talent in "side-tracking" =S

Let's get into the point now.

Live life to the fullest
I don't want my weekends to be burned off meaninglessly. I am going to at least read more, socialize more and travel more. Basically, what I meant was to explore myself into different areas in life. I believe that doing these will diversify my thoughts and benefit me in return.

Be more health conscious
I always thought that I am still young and need not be extremely health conscious. This is totally a WRONG concept. Being healthy is the key in life! What is the point of having a lot of money and you don't get to have the opportunity to spend them? The question is: How to be health conscious? Alright, I am pretty clueless about it actually. Hmm, in terms of food intake and nutrition, I can tell nothing except less oil, less salt, less sugar. I will need to explore much more in this area. Next, exercise more! Don't be a lazy bum!!!

Keep in touch with friends regularly
I have been feeling so bad for neglecting a lot of my friends, especially those in Malaysia. I swear it was my bad and I am trying to make up for it. Treat them the way you want to be treated. Even if you can't get to meet them, at least put in the effort to message or call them. They will appreciate that, I supposed =S ... HAHA

Take more photos
This is a weird resolution, but I really want to capture the moments in life. All these memories deserved to be remembered and evidenced. Speaking of that, I need to start saving and get myself a new camera. Ka-ching $$$

Appreciate my family
It's not that I don't appreciate my family previously. I just want to show them the love I had for them in a more obvious way. Well, I don't know how. Maybe more hugs and kisses? HAHA maybe spending more time with them, take them to good places and try to lessen their burdens. Are there such phrasing: to lessen? =S

Turning words into actions
I can put up more than 10 resolutions yet fulfill less than half of them. I need constant reminder by myself to myself that these resolutions will not be fulfilled IF I never put in the effort to start doing them.

I can't think of any more resolutions, so for the time being, these will do. If I had more, I might upload a part 2, haha. Anyways, an official goodbye to 2013 and a welcome to 2014! Muacks, please be a lovely year =D

My 20th Birthday Celebration (Part 3)

On the 6th of July, another good friend of mine, Xiao Yu and her boyfriend did a birthday celebration for me. Both of them are from China and hence they know a lot of authentic Chinese Restaurants in Singapore. They brought me to a restaurants located in Geylang Lorong 13. It's called 刘大妈无烟羊肉串.

Xiao Yu was the one who ordered the delicacies. We waited for around 10 minutes for the food to be served. The most memorable dish that I recalled was grilled banana sprinkled with little bread crumbs. Most of the meats, for instance, mutton and beef are sprinkled with chili powders. However, they weren't spicy. Good news for me!

It's a music box given by Xiao Yu~
Another celebration was with my another group of my friend, Man Ping, Si Yian and Wandi. We met one another in secondary school and then studied in the same polytechnic, same course. Must be fate!

This is how the day went. Man Ping asked me out for dinner. When we met one another in the mall, she told me that Si Yian will be coming too. Reason was that Si Yian wanted to ask her out and Man Ping revealed that she will be having dinner with me. This is such a perfect excuse isn't it? I was totally not suspicious on that!

Man Ping was such a great liar! When she receives Si Yian's call, she pretended she was talking to her mom! One of the sentences used during the conversation was: "Hey mom, continue shopping with dad and stop calling me!" Haha, how natural was her lying skill right?

When Si Yian came to meet Man Ping and I, we eventually chit chat and walked towards Long John Silver. This is when I realised Wandi was there looking at the menu of Long John Silver. I was shocked seeing his presence! He claimed that he just finished discussion with his project mates and was now thinking of what to have for dinner. We "invited" him to join us and then head on to Hot Tomato for dinner.

Everything went normal. We had our main courses and were deciding on what to have for dessert. Clever Si Yian went to take the menu.  In actual, she informed the waitress to serve the cake.

Cake designed by Man Ping. Well, now we know her drawing skills.
The "20" was specially added upon the request of Si Yian. That's what Man Ping said. She said Si Yian told her that it was a MUST. Well, even the waitress who served the cake teased me that: Now we know your age, 20 huh... Haha!

After which, all of them handed me a present. The gift consists of a photo frame (with no photo) and a pair of socks. Then they asked whether I am disappointed. I said not really but yes because there wasn't any photo in it. Obviously, that's a prank. Haha! They even took a video of my reaction, mean friends!!!

They then gave me the "real" gift, which is a really sweet cardigan in my favourite colour. I was more than happy that day! Words can't describe my exact feeling. When I was on the way back home, I was literally smiling all the way. Passersby must be thinking I am a lunatic. Well, I don't care, I am happy and that's all matters =D

The latest birthday celebration was with another group of friends met during internship. They treated me for a movie, guess which one? Hehe, yeap, Despicable Me 2!!! Frankly speaking, I am not a fan of cartoons. However, I cannot deny that this movie is too cute and funny! It is a wise choice to watch the movie!

I supposed this marks the end of my 20th birthday celebration. Oh yea, my dad still owed me a gift. He said I could get anything I want and I'm still in the process of hunting the best gift haha! My mom gave me a straightener which I have requested.

My 20th Birthday Celebration (Part 2)

Let's continue with part 2, shall we?

On the 28th of June, which is also a Friday, I had morning lecture at 9am. Although I slept at 3am, I still have to wake up at 7am to attend the lecture. I swear I must be looking like a zombie that day. You might be thinking "What about your best friends who were having sleepover?"

Okay, they have to go Republic Polytechnic to run some errands there. Hence, we head out together at around 8am. I gave up my breakfast time just to catch more sleep. That's always the case. Skipping breakfast is very normal. I know it's bad for my health and I'm trying to dump this habit. Yeah, TRYING!

After an hour lecture from 9am to 10am, I have a freaking 4 hours break till my next tutorial lesson. I really hate that, I swear... My bunch of friends suggested earlier to have lunch at Ichiban Restaurant for lunch, as a celebration of my friend's birthday which falls on 2nd July.

I was thinking: Why do you guys celebrate another person's birthday on MY birthday? Then I thought never mind, that's sad but it's okay. Then we went there and I ordered Sashimi meal. Oh yeah, what do you expect from a Japanese food lover?!

Sorry for the poor quality... Too hungry and can't wait to stuff these into my mouth.
These were super yummy especially when you add in some soy sauce. OMG, paradise! This is when I realised they were also celebrating my birthday. I'm like "WOOHOO, nobody forgets my birthday :> "Another surprise that I've gotten~ A pleasant surprise that I enjoyed
It's the lightings that made me look "yellowish". I'm carrying my laptop by the way. The cupcake is from Delifrance I supposed. Cheesy and chocolaty and YUMMY!

They bought me a lovely dress and top. The best part of the clothings are that they are in floral prints. Literally the whole pieces in florals. If I wore them to a garden, you might not even notice me there cause I will be totally blended into the flower bushes. No joke. I love them though!

At night, I was asked to have dinner but I thought I should spend it with my family. I decided to just have a simple meal at Empire States.
My order of mushroom, bacon and ham spaghetti. It's a little too cheesy. It 's quite a big serving and if you were to go there, I will suggest you to order one and share it among your friends.

My brother, Shaun's order or Fish & Chips.

When we reached home at around 8.30pm, my cousin's family visited us. They bought me a cake from BreadTalk and we have fun playing with her adorable baby girl.
The only piece in the world cause it's handmade by my cousin. She is really good at sewing. I really love this piece of work that she has done. I will never reach this level in sewing. I simply has no interests in it...

Gift from another cousin of mine. It's from The Body Shop and it smells super "orangy". When I use the shower gel, the whole bathroom smells like an orange juice factory.
I had an awesome day. I am really thankful to my family and friends. To those who wished me happy birthday too, thanks!

To be continued...

My 20th Birthday Celebration (Part 1)

28th June is always the best day of the year because it's my birthday!
I LOVE to celebrate birthday because...

  • I love to eat cakes and this is the perfect time to have one without feeling guilty.
  • It is the day when your family and friends will treat you like a princess =P
  • You can order someone to do something and they will be willing to do it.
  • You can receive gifts. This is the main reason by the way. HAHA
This year's birthday is even special because I'm turning 20, oh yeah! I don't know why I'm so happy about it despite the fact that I'm aging... oh gosh, horrible fact!

The title is part 1 because there's simply too many things to write and I thought it would be a better idea to split things up.

Gift from my best friends, dearest Hiba and Li Fei. All of the above are products of The Face Shop. Let me introduce the items~
4 bottles of nail polishes. The first one is cracking nail polish in the colour grey. The second is gold shimmery and the third gold glitters. The fourth which is also my favourite is in the colour purple shimmery.
Grapefruit sleeping mask. It smells really good!
Lip balm. The cutest one that I've seen in my life. It comes with a stick that enables you to apply to your lips. The smell of this lip balm is super awesome! I always feel like tasting it cause it smells fruity and I love fruits!
Hand lotion. Aww... It's so cute~
These two besties of mine, gave me the biggest surprise in my life. Both of them visited me on the 27th of June at around 10pm. In fact, they contacted my brother for this surprise. My parents also knew that they would be coming. When they came, I was in my room and I'm trying to get something. Suddenly, both of them came into my room and shouted "Happy Birthday". I was back-facing them and I am in my sleeping dress! I was so shocked to do anything, seriously...

They also bought me two pieces of cake from McCafe. It is delicious~ I can never resist cakes...
Then, I changed into T-shirt and shorts. Then we hang out in my room for a while and left the house to a nearby park. I know, it's already late but it's okay, who cares when the birthday girl is getting over-excited?

We found a shelter and chat a lot there. As usual, we took hundreds of photos. Will upload that the other time cause they're taken using my friend's camera. Did a lot of jumping shots just because most of them were failed... total failure. I'll tell you how "fail" it is. I was taking jumping shots of my brother. 5 of them in total. It turns out in all the 5 photos that he was standing still. The timing was just a total disaster!!!

After uncountable amounts of tries, we finally got the hang of it. We returned home at around 12.45am I guessed... Then we ate the cake bought by my parents. It's green tea cake with red beans in it. Not a bad combination actually.

After bathing, we chilled in my room, doing manicure. Li Fei helped Hiba and I on the manicure. She's got a talent in it. At that time it was around 3am but all of us were still wide awake~ Oh ya, I forgot to mention that both of them came for a sleepover. (They have previously asked for permission from my dad.)

I will continue the rests in my coming blog. =)

It's all about FOOD!

Oops... I just realised how long I have not been posting. Just a quick introduction. These are some of the delicious stuffs I have had. Don't be jealous and stop drooling. Take a tissue and wipe away your yucky saliva. HAHA

Made by one of my friend who does not wish to be named. Totally not expecting her to be able to bake. Well... Indeed a surprise. A pleasant surprise thankfully! It tasted yummy =D

By judging the look of this cupcake, you know how tasty it will be isn't it? It's from Twelve Cupcakes.  Given by my friend at workplace. Another friend of mine stole the heart shaped thingy and ate it!!!

This red velvety cupcake is made by my dearest friend, Hiba. We had a picnic at Botanical Garden and she made us these delicious cupcakes.

Cookie treat from supervisor. I kind of miss working there... Can't believe I am saying this. Hmm...
I personally have not seen this flavour of Kit Kat before. It's blueberry flavoured!!! My cousin bought us this when he visited Japan the other day. I still preferred the green tea flavoured ones better. =S
Grilled chicken drumstick. Served with pureed potato with broccoli and baked beans. The preparation is tedious but when the family gets to eat good food together, nothing matters.

I will TRY to keep this blog ALIVE. Haha~

Working Life in IRAS

Time to update my blog I guess :D alright, it's gonna be regarding my internship life in a government sector. Well, it sounds kinda cool that at the age of 19, you get to work in such a BIG company. In fact, it is not as amazing as it seemed to be.

Firstly, you have to work from Monday to Friday from 8am -5.30pm. Next, you might be called upon to work on Saturday. However, I don't mind working on Saturday cause there are very few phone calls. ^^ Also, the working time is only until 1pm for Saturday, that means I can go to town in the afternoon since they are just a few stops away from my workplace!

Well, the worst part of working is not the work itself. To me, it's more on the training. We had 8 days of intensive training and yes, I meant INTENSIVE!!! The training was super dry and heavily content based! Gosh... There's over 80 slides each day! And there's links to Microsoft words within the slides!!! Nightmare!

I shall now share with you my job scope. I'm in the contact centre and my job is answering calls from taxpayers. I am trained in business income tax. Each day is a fresh new day cause you can never predict what they will ask you. Each time before I pick up a call, I will pray hard not to have angry taxpayers. Haha! So far so good, my taxpayers were really friendly and nice.

I love short and sweet calls for instance: when is the deadline for filing? Gosh... This is by far my favourite question! Haha~

Okay, time to talk about my colleagues. I get to know around 15 more friends here who are same course with me in my school. I also get to know 2 other friends from Ngee Ann Poly. They are super friendly and funny :D

Each day, we have to answer calls and advice taxpayers. We are there to solve their problems and clear their doubts. Those who love talking and help others will definitely LOVE this job. The stress from this job is actually giving wrong information to taxpayers. That's like the only thing I'm worried of.

Actually I don't mind handling a lot of calls as long as they are easy to handle. I also appreciate the fact that the taxpayers are friendly, understanding and nice~ :D

Even though work life is quite stressful, I managed to enjoy myself during the weekends.

Accessories: Pandora Bracelets

Today, what I'm going to share with you is on ways to build your own Pandora bracelets. For those accessories lovers, this is going to be a perfect tutorial for you! The following information and pictures are obtained from the Pandora booklet. I found it useful and so I decided to share with all of you.

Why customise your own bracelet?

  1. Unique
  2. Fun
  3. Meaningful

The cover page of the booklet.
Building a bracelet is indeed a fun thing to do. I get to know Pandora bracelets from my aunt. She told me some of the girls will buy a charm each year as a present for their own birthdays. (Charm: Take a look at Step 2 and you'll know what it is) I think it sounds cool!

Step 1: Bracelet
The booklet guides you on ways to build the bracelet. It suggests that we can capture the moments in life and represent it using a bracelet.

Step 2: Charms
There are a lot of designs to choose from!  Look how cute the designs are... Aww...~ How I wish I own every single one of them...

Step 3: Clips

Clips are used to "divide" the bracelets. Furthermore, they come with exquisite designs that are so special!
Step 4: Spacers
I thought spacers looked like clips. However, they must be different or they won't be named differently right? Haha.

Step 5: Safety
Lastly, place safety chains to secure the charms. With this, that marks the end on how to build your own bracelet. =D

This is an example on how to choose the charms to represent your moments in life.

These designs are simply elegant and beautiful!

To create a more balanced look, mix silver and gold.

The cheerful and colourful look.

An overview of the fully built Pandora Bracelet.

Okay, do you want to have a look at my Pandora bracelet? ^^ Well, these are gifts from my aunt.

Well, don't ask me why I capture the bracelets with my hand as background. I don't have any idea too...
Next I'll show all the charms my aunt has bought. She has really nice taste, each of them are so pretty and they are definitely excellent choices to be made~
These are different materials.
Okay, that's all I'll be sharing on Pandora bracelets. =D What are you waiting for? Go and build your own bracelet and show me! If you have no idea where to buy these Pandora bracelets, check out this website: www.pandora.net
